Your Lifestyle & Your Fertility Status

In the present generation, it is common to find couples who prefer to have children in their mid-thirties as a matter of their careers or choice. In this case, your lifestyle should be the priority as long as you plan on having children in the late future. This does come to scare you, but our lifestyle affects every aspect of life including fertility

What to ponder over?

As long as you plan on having children in thirties or early forties, think about this;

Your biological clock
Your fertility is greatly influenced by your age and unlike men, women have a biological clock that ticks every hour that passes. In addition, a woman’s chances of conception reach their peak during her twenties and decline the moment she clocks 30. Therefore, adopt practices that can promote your fertility

Stress
I believe most of us hardly understand the effects of stress on the body and that implies to your fertility too. To promote body function, a hormone known as cortisol is produced, but in high levels, research shows numerous effects of this hormone that include lower immune function, lower bone density, and infertility. Acquiring various practices to combat or reduce stress can save you from infertility

Body Weight (BMI/Obesity/Overweight)
Your body weight says a lot about your fertility status. According to the leading IVF centre in India, “Eva Hospital”, obese women have higher chances of infertility regardless of their age as this may impose various factors like PCOS, insulin resistance, anovulation among others

Smoking & Alcoholism
Smoking has proved to have a negative impact on female and male fertility. Even second-hand smoke in the case of women can cause infertility, including low birth weight, miscarriage, and premature delivery
